A non dress or skirt day chaps but of course a vintage top and jacket will do nicely thank you! This is a fantastic top to wear all white, pinks and blues in silk!

I found the fab 70s necklace in a charity shop and the 50s bracelet on ebay.....! Friday hooray... Leigh on Sea tomorrow for another look around for relocation!! Exited but nervous!!

In view of the terrible disaster in Japan I felt compelled to wear my 1920's hand painted Japanese silk tie depicting Mount Fuji. A retro 70s silver brocade maxi skirt and 70s red leather with a little bit of faux fur colour!! Sad days .....

So this lovely lady spoke to me this morning and said ....'wear me ... wear me'.. well the only trouble is that she doesn't like tights they make her uncomfortable! So who was I to argue it is mild enough! This lovely silk 50s number is fully lined and well so I thoughts.. lets take her out for the day... this blue and cream cowichan wanted to come too... with my lovely gloves made by Liisa giving me extra wrist warmth... and to top it all as I was leaving the beret and 70s diamonete necklace screamed don't leave me behind.. don't leave me behind.....! All happy and dandy!!

I have been waiting for a day when I was sure that it wouldn't rain.... they said that it won't today... so out came the suede shoeboots! I do love them and considering they are higher than the boots that I often wear they are very comfortable...go figure..!! eh. Teamed today with a late 60s lace number that still has her belt and my fab sea horse necklace, Pop Boutique 70's re-conditioned leather jacket....

'Back to the workhouse' as they say.... it was lovely and sunny this morning but as a new day dawns so the need to wear a slightly more Spring dress and jacket was needed....

After a Friday of Hummingbird Cupcakes and a seaside trip to Leigh on Sea the happy vibes are still 'vibeing'.... and so one of my many 70s barkcloth dresses was pulled from her resting space and teamed with a 50s jacket and 50s necklace....

This barkcloth dress was cut down by another before she landed on her rail and although I have quite a few proper length ones so I have shorter ones as well..... this is an interesting almost 'combat' print... well I needed that this morning on the tube!!

Lou Shabner Retro Print

I recently sold my Tina Lynch print (see link below) and have sold another one of these fantastic mass marketed prints... this is Lou Shabner. Very little is known about him at all..... I did hear that if you look at some of his prints you will notice that it is the same woman at different stages of her life... I was told by a dealer that in fact it was his wife. I had another of her looking older definitely the same lady but further on in life but still as beautiful. Not the best photo but wanted to get rid of the light reflection sorry). I passed this onto a Tony who also bought my Tina by Lynch (click here)

So I took a little trip out and about and ended up in Berkhamstead Oxfam was open on a Sunday!! I had a little look around and of all people a volunteer behind the counter said how much he liked my crewel work jacket! Well that made my day I can tell you! Not often a chap will say something and also be so knowledgeable.... it turned out that he used to work in Liberty in the carpeting department and knew all about it.... I am a huge fan of crewelwork and love the colours often used and the fact that most is made by hand.

This jacket is I think a late 50s lady, 70s crocheted yellow top....and little parrot necklace.....





I am very fond of parrots and bought this little sweetie necklace in a charity shop years ago!! How fitting they are to be sitting among the crewel work foliage...!

A trip to the seaside inspired me to wear my gorg 50s barkcloth nautical inspired skirt. I popped over to Leigh on Sea for potential relocation possibilities what a lovely day I had... seeing Mina and her 10 month old Ava and popping into some estate agents, charity shops and vintage boutiques (one of which was Polkadot Kisses) ......!! This little 40s lace number has seen better days. I love the lace over the crepe material! Teamed with my 50s blonde fur jacket with a little late 40s silver diamante flower basket ....! It is Friday and I'm going out for cup cakes!!

I do love this little 80s fox top and 80s leather jacket...plus my dear old mam's 50s choker! Oh woh is me... where is the spring, I'm living in hope....!
