Liisa had been creating lovely recipes again and one day she came in with her lovely apple, rhubarb and cinnamon compote! Hmmm I thought that would be just right on my porridge on Sunday morning! AND IT WAS!!! Trouble is I have a feeling I will just sit and eat it out of the jar this evening! No porridge and compot on Monday morning!
I also recently found this lovely fabric in another charity shop expedition makes a lovely table cloth! Me thinks!
I'm glad you liked it! I had my first jar on Sunday and am now tempted to make more!
ReplyDeleteI love the glass and the fabric is pretty cool as well!
Thanks again very nice unfortunately it is as I thought ... all eaten up! Yes I love my glasses! I'll take a quick picky of it with the others!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for winter porridge as the temps drop. Also trying to maintain my 5-a-day so a good way to get that vit c going. Have you got a recipe for the compote at all? Jx
ReplyDeleteYes it was lovely here is Liisa's receipe!! I look forward to hear about or even taste your version!!
ReplyDelete2-3 kg cooking apples
0.5-1 kg rhubarb
2 dl water
3-4 dl sugar
Juice of ½ lemon
Cinnamon to taste 1 tbs (?)
Chop apples and rhubarb and simmer in water for a few minutes. Add sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon and simmer for additional 30 mins or so.
