Hmm not so sure on this dress you know! Actually perhaps it needs an iron!!haha Great material but not sure if it suits me BUT not to worry!! Late 50s cotton dress with it's big original buttons and one of my fav bracelets from the 50s!! I think the weekend couldn't come soon enough, a spot of gardening, haircut, playing with the kitten girls and maybe a little trip to Regents Park!

With promises of a warmish day I go for a little 50s style number made I think in the 80s! But what a brilliant print, very geometric and wonderful swishy fabric... I would have said it was a total 50s because of the quality! What a pleasure to wear this little lady...and my little silk handmade Chinese inspired jacket... I love the peacock on the back....!

Vintage Barkcloth Cushion Heals

Well I must say I have a little stash of various vintage barkcloth to start working on but in some cases as they are curtains I just don't want to cut them up ... but I thought I would start work on the ones that are just pieces or odd and sods....




...in this case the orange ones I found in a the antique and collectables place in Berkhamstead. I had a feeling that it is from Heals as we had them our front room when we were growing up and they were from the said place!!!......and the other little white, black and orange piece is from Pineapple Ice Bucket in Brockenhurst.





......I've had it since I last went down there and subsequently did a post on the great shop!! I had this tremendeous urge to put these two together.... and well that was my making and sewing for a Sunday afternoon...

What a fab day meeting up with my little mate Jenny A!! We thought lets meet for a look around and a spot of lunch.... she had a few vouchers to use up and in the end it was me who found a couple of things... oh dear!! I adore this little number unfortunately we were on Oxford Street, London so I felt a little bit on show!! SO didn't take off my jacket!! Both different times during the 70s!

Well if I could think of some April fool I would .... but I've got a touch of a hangover after last night... thank god my event went well and so did the vino!! Have taken the day off and was just going to take it easy but then decided that a busy morning doing my chores would get them out of the way then a little wonder around the charity shops!! Then back with the kitten girls in the garden!! This vintage 70s kaftan is gorg with amazing with gold threaded embroidery.... and this lovely little 70s ring from the RSPCA ...60s gorgeousness!!.... Oh looks like I will be viewing a lovely little flat in Leigh on Sea next week..... fingers crossed!!
