So yesterday was really warm I just fancied wearing one of my little 70s prairie numbers with this fab sun burst 70s necklace from a fantastic charity shops in Leigh on Sea a few years ago!....shame it was so chilly!!
Phew what a busy weekend... carboot yesterday and then loads of chores and errands to do....so what better day to throw on one of my fav 70s American vintage t'shirts.... love the design... oh dear because of the mirror the image is the wrong way around... sorry all you American cousins!! x
Phew what an early start.... the moon was still out when I left this morning... starting to line up with all the car boot sellers at 5.30 am! Well you can't wear lovely 'soushy' 50s dresses, or funky 70s fun outfits!! A vintage 70s padded armless skiing jacket although if you look at the back maybe it was a cowboy one!!!! It was fun and I met lots of nice people and not so but that is the nature of good ole' car boots...
I think that I must be on a Chinese jacket roll!! I do adore my 70s prairie dress with my warm quilted jacket and cowboy boots... The yoke is so sweet made with velvet really lovely.... but I know that when I get home I have to focus and fill up Katie car for my little adventure tomorrow... another car boot sale ... having my annual clear out.. out at the Denham Carboot!!
RED... a very strong colour....hmm why was I feeling red today.... feeling a bit tired to be honest..red just gave me a little kick... a retro early 80s dress, 70s gold belt, and Chinese jacket... it was funny it reminded me last year when a colleague said I looked like an air hostess, Susan and I giggled for the rest of the day when I told her about that..... as I thought maybe Britney Spears might have worn a very much shortened version for her video Toxic... I totally think that Toxic is one of the best produced singles of the recent times..... always makes me feel happy.... I didn't feel tired anymore after a good giggle....!
I must confess that on lovely Spring days like today that there are certain items that I wish I had not passed on... this is one of them....... although I sold her quite a while ago I was looking out of my window today and noticed that the daffodils were flowering and grass getting thicker and that little 'booboo' was chasing an innocent little bee and nearly knocked over my little ornamental mushrooms! I thought of the little scene depicted on this stunning 70s long sleeved dress! Happy days!
This one of my favourite vintage 70s barkcloth dresses!! When i left this morning I had gloves and a scarf on now I am just too hot in the long sleeve....barr that is what happens at this time of year!!
Vintage 70s Hawiian Barkcloth dress....I looked in my wardrobe this morning and thought Betty you should start wearing your little collection of barkcloth dresses... but as you know I am working my way through my collection of little vintage pieces from 40s through to the 80s and I am sure that they will be given a day out but they may have to wait in line!!
What a lovely sunny day and mild! To celebrate, a day for one of my many vintage Mexican embroidered dresses I am sure that you will see more as the Spring and Summer progesses!!
I have decided .... it has to be Leigh or nowhere! So a day spent clearing more bits and bobs for the huge Denham Car Boot Sales next Saturday! Only little Katy car has to take us up to the big roundabout! I thought it has to be jeans worn with a fabulous 70s converted cape.... but look at the design signs of the 'Zodiac'!
